Largest Third Party on Course to Win in 2010
Constitution Party Attracts Record Candidates for Mid-Term Election
St. Louis, MO. “Freedom-loving Missouri voters will really have a choice this year as the Constitution Party announces a total of 72 candidates filing for federal, state and local offices,” Donna Ivanovich, State Chair of the Constitution Party reported today. The party has filed three candidates for the U.S. Senate race. Others include candidates for U.S. Representative in the 3rd, 4th and 5th Districts, 26th and 28th State Senate District, 19 State Representative districts, in addition to 45 candidates for county and local offices. A complete list of Constitution Party candidates is available at the party website, www.constitutionpartymo.org

There is only one political party that stands for a return to government based solely on constitutional principles, and it is the Constitution Party. Every day, more and more people are joining in the fight to restore constitutional government to America. “For the past twenty years people have witnessed the expansion of Federal government at an unprecedented rate. Both parties have contributed to amassing a federal debt that is unsustainable. People are looking for solutions, and they are turning to the Constitution Party.” says Ivanovich.
“The Constitution Party’s principles are based in the ideas of life, liberty, family, and property protected by the Constitution. All 39 planks of the party platform are rooted in sound constitutional thought. http://www.constitutionpartymo.org/platform Our candidates have been thoroughly vetted and understand the proper role of government. Our plan to restore the rule of constitutional government to our country should appeal to all Americans concerned about the future of our nation,” says Ivanovich.
Ray Kish, the party’s candidate for 119th District State Representative, says, “The two-party system has abandoned our heritage and restructured our laws to benefit the special interests that fund their campaigns. Democrats and Republicans subscribe to the unconstitutional premise of centralized power, and both support the dismantling of our manufacturing base and the inherent loss of jobs, which has culminated in the decline of the standard of living of all Americans. Their self-serving policies have wasted the potential of our country and denied the people their rightful place as the source of power in government.”
“There is no doubt that a constitutionally committed third party is needed,” added Greg Cowan, candidate for U.S. Representative in the 4th Congressional District.
Democrats and Republicans have people who were elected with every intention to do the right thing. However, their beliefs have been sidelined, or they have been corrupted by the power of the established Parties, who ignore their own platforms. America desperately needs leaders, who come to government to serve the people, and the purpose of the Constitution Party is to back them in that endeavor.
Dave Lay, candidate for 5th Congressional District U.S. Representative in the Kansas City area, stated, “The party is gaining momentum, and I am seeing more support as my campaign progresses. The party is exploding in growth because people are desperate for a government focused on preserving their rights. They want leaders, who can be trusted to represent them and speak for their concerns. We are losing our freedoms and hundreds of thousands of jobs under the stranglehold of both major parties.”
Simply put, the Constitution Party is bound by constitutional principles, and its candidates will take seriously their Oath of Office to uphold those beliefs. The single-minded, two party system has not only strayed far off the course charted by the founders, but it lacks basic common sense and fiscal responsibility needed for good leadership. The resulting anger expressed in the voice of ignored citizens makes it clear that if confidence in government is to survive, voters must have a real choice in 2010.
Time to Pray for our Country
Dear CPers and Fellow Patriots,
As each day passes our Constitution is being trampled upon ever more. Sometimes it looks to be a hopeless situation, but then we reflect on the truths we know. Our country was founded on principles of liberty, and fought for, even unto death, by men who cared more for future generations and our country’s freedom than even their very lives. Our country was established in view of our inalienable rights given by our Creator, hence not anyone’s to take away.
The battle continues today; we have a current federal government filled with corrupt leaders. But even so, we have a strong American people who want to see liberty and justice for all. The Constitution Party is running strong and just in time to step in and bring America back to its founding documents, restoring liberty to all. Now more than ever, we need to fight the good fight, to stand for freedom and justice.
Additionally, we need to call on the power of our Creator and holy God, seeking His wisdom, guidance, grace and providence in our efforts to take back our nation. We need to be on our knees continually praying for our country and the Party we hope God will use to restore America. Now is the time for corporate prayer from state to state, patriot to patriot, believer to believer. For this cause, I call on you, asking if you might be involved with me in regular, corporate prayer for our Party and our nation?
All this requires is simply sending me a return email saying, “YES TO PRAYER,” and you will be placed on the corporate prayer email list. Then, regular updates will come to you with special prayer requests. I believe God’s number of perfection is seven, and so I have decided to send prayer requests out in sevens. Quite simply, you will receive regular emails with seven specific requests for which to pray.
You can select your method of prayer, i.e. pray for all seven when you get the email, one a day for a week, or other methods. The prayer requests will reflect needs of our local MO Party and Candidates, needs of National, specific prayer for our current leaders, and other important needs of our country.
I will also include a special time for prayer. This time will change each email to offer flexibility, and will be set up to encourage everyone available to also pray the list at that specific time from wherever they are located. There will be no meeting place for corporate prayer; each person will individually participate.
It is my prayer you will get behind the power of prayer. I thank those who are already praying regularly and encourage them to participate in this special prayer. Again, just send an email to val@unitedbyhisgrace.org that simply says, “YES TO PRAYER.”
May God work miracles through the prayers of His people.

Constitution Party of Missouri Objects to Census Questions
The Constitution Party of Missouri strongly believes the Census Bureau is constitutionally limited to collecting only one piece of information about each residence: the number of persons living there. We believe the federal government should not be collecting any other information.
“The U.S. Constitution empowers Congress to provide for a census in order to apportion Representatives correctly by population (Article I, Section 2.8). We firmly believe the Founding Fathers DID NOT intend the decennial census to be conducted in its present intrusive manner. There is no constitutional reason for Congress to collect additional information such as name, race, age, sex, or home ownership status. The federal government will use this additional information to further fine tune its control over the lives of the American people.
The Inspector General of the Department of Commerce estimates preparations for the 2010 census will cost in excess of $14 billion. The Constitution Party of Missouri contends a constitutional census, limited to just a headcount, would be much less expensive.
The Constitution Party of Missouri along with many Americans are unconvinced the Census Bureau will keep our information secret, and may very well turn over personal information collected to government agencies not authorized to access that information. The census form states “Your answers are confidential. This means the Census Bureau cannot give out information that identifies you or your household. Your answers will only be used for statistical purposes, and no other purpose”. The form goes on to state, “your answers cannot be obtained by law enforcement or tax collection agencies. Your answers cannot be used in court. They cannot be obtained with a Freedom of Information Act request”. The question that begs for an answer then is, “why does the Census Bureau ask for this information if it cannot be shared?”
How you choose to answer questions on the 2010 Census form must be your decision. The question to ask yourself is, “do I trust the Federal government to do as it says?” Then you will know how to answer the questions on the census form.
The Constitution Party of Missouri opposes health care scheme
The Constitution Party of Missouri opposes the current health care legislation being considered in the US House of Representatives. This legislation is designed to be intertwined with the bill passed last December by the US Senate. “The Federal government has no constitutional authority to be attempting a take-over of our health care system and instead should be passing laws reducing or eliminating federal involvement in health care”, says State Chair Donna Ivanovich of Arnold, Missouri.
Ivanovich also pointed out, “It is a virtual certainty that the cost estimates of health care legislation are dramatically understated. In 1965, Medicare Part A was estimated to cost $9 billion in 1990, when in actuality, it was 10 times that amount. This past week, Moody’s Investor Services warned the United States it is perilously close to losing its AAA credit rating because of the total amount of debt.”
The Constitution Party Platform makes this statement concerning health care and government involvement, “The Constitution Party opposes the governmentalization and bureaucratization of American medicine. Government regulation and subsidy constitutes a threat to both the quality and availability of patient-oriented health care and treatment.”
The United States Constitution does not contain the words “health insurance, health care, medicine or doctor”. Congress has absolutely no constitutional authority to regulate health insurance, hospitals, doctor or insurance companies. Our free market system will do that through the market place, IF THE GOVERNMENT WILL GET OUT OF THE WAY. Furthermore the Federal government certainly does not have any authority to tell American citizens they have to purchase health insurance or be fined or jailed.
For Americans to have any hope of returning to constitutional government, the status quo must be changed. Ulike the other parties, the Constitution Party of Missouri thoroughly vets its candidates to be certain they understand the proper role of government, the principles of freedom, and the Constitution. By electing candidates of the Constitution Party of Missouri, the American people can begin the long climb out of the un-constitutional abyss they have been thrown into by both “big box” parties.
“This is just another attempt by a central government to take over a large sector of an economy on the pretext of “helping its citizens”, says Ivanovich. “Centralized government has been the dream of socialists for generations. History shows wherever and whenever socialism has been tried, it has failed. This proposed health care take-over will be to the detriment of all Americans young and old. To continue on the present course will only further strengthen the Federal government’s control over every aspect of our lives”, Ivanovich concludes.
