Largest Third Party on Course to Win in 2010
Constitution Party Attracts Record Candidates for Mid-Term Election
St. Louis, MO. “Freedom-loving Missouri voters will really have a choice this year as the Constitution Party announces a total of 72 candidates filing for federal, state and local offices,” Donna Ivanovich, State Chair of the Constitution Party reported today. The party has filed three candidates for the U.S. Senate race. Others include candidates for U.S. Representative in the 3rd, 4th and 5th Districts, 26th and 28th State Senate District, 19 State Representative districts, in addition to 45 candidates for county and local offices. A complete list of Constitution Party candidates is available at the party website, www.constitutionpartymo.org

There is only one political party that stands for a return to government based solely on constitutional principles, and it is the Constitution Party. Every day, more and more people are joining in the fight to restore constitutional government to America. “For the past twenty years people have witnessed the expansion of Federal government at an unprecedented rate. Both parties have contributed to amassing a federal debt that is unsustainable. People are looking for solutions, and they are turning to the Constitution Party.” says Ivanovich.
“The Constitution Party’s principles are based in the ideas of life, liberty, family, and property protected by the Constitution. All 39 planks of the party platform are rooted in sound constitutional thought. http://www.constitutionpartymo.org/platform Our candidates have been thoroughly vetted and understand the proper role of government. Our plan to restore the rule of constitutional government to our country should appeal to all Americans concerned about the future of our nation,” says Ivanovich.
Ray Kish, the party’s candidate for 119th District State Representative, says, “The two-party system has abandoned our heritage and restructured our laws to benefit the special interests that fund their campaigns. Democrats and Republicans subscribe to the unconstitutional premise of centralized power, and both support the dismantling of our manufacturing base and the inherent loss of jobs, which has culminated in the decline of the standard of living of all Americans. Their self-serving policies have wasted the potential of our country and denied the people their rightful place as the source of power in government.”
“There is no doubt that a constitutionally committed third party is needed,” added Greg Cowan, candidate for U.S. Representative in the 4th Congressional District.
Democrats and Republicans have people who were elected with every intention to do the right thing. However, their beliefs have been sidelined, or they have been corrupted by the power of the established Parties, who ignore their own platforms. America desperately needs leaders, who come to government to serve the people, and the purpose of the Constitution Party is to back them in that endeavor.
Dave Lay, candidate for 5th Congressional District U.S. Representative in the Kansas City area, stated, “The party is gaining momentum, and I am seeing more support as my campaign progresses. The party is exploding in growth because people are desperate for a government focused on preserving their rights. They want leaders, who can be trusted to represent them and speak for their concerns. We are losing our freedoms and hundreds of thousands of jobs under the stranglehold of both major parties.”
Simply put, the Constitution Party is bound by constitutional principles, and its candidates will take seriously their Oath of Office to uphold those beliefs. The single-minded, two party system has not only strayed far off the course charted by the founders, but it lacks basic common sense and fiscal responsibility needed for good leadership. The resulting anger expressed in the voice of ignored citizens makes it clear that if confidence in government is to survive, voters must have a real choice in 2010.
