ST. LOUIS, MO. Missouri voters will decide if they want federal law to force them to buy health insurance, as the “Health Care Freedom Act” has now passed the House and goes to the Secretary of State to be placed on the August primary ballot. If the voters approve, no federal law could force a patient, employer, or health care provider to participate in any government or privately run health care system designed by the state or federal government.

The Constitution Party of Missouri opposed the health care legislation passed by Congress and signed into law by the President on March 23. At that time, State Chair, Donna Ivanovich, said, “The Federal government has no constitutional authority to be attempting a take-over of our health care system and, instead, should be passing laws reducing or eliminating federal involvement in health care”.

The Constitution Party Platform makes this statement concerning health care and government involvement, “The Constitution Party opposes the governmentalization and bureaucratization of American medicine. Government regulation and subsidy constitutes a threat to both the quality and availability of patient-oriented health care and treatment.”

The United States Constitution does not contain the words “health insurance, health care, medicine or doctor”. Congress has absolutely no constitutional authority to regulate health insurance, hospitals, doctor or insurance companies. Our free market system will do that through the market place, IF THE GOVERNMENT WILL GET OUT OF THE WAY. Furthermore, the Federal government certainly does not have any authority to tell American citizens they have to purchase health insurance or be fined or jailed.

Tuesday, the Missouri General Assembly passed House Bill 1764, which will be submitted to the voters for approval on August 3, 2010. This proposed referendum states, “no person or business in Missouri can be compelled to purchase health insurance, nor can they be fined for not having health insurance.”

The Constitution Party of Missouri supports the General Assembly for taking this major step to protect the citizens of Missouri from unwarranted, illegal and un-constitutional intrusion by the Federal government into their lives and liberty; especially at a time when Missourians and small businesses need help the most.

IN SUPPORT OF ARIZONA’S IMMIGRATION LAW

Whereas, the Constitution Party platform affirms the integrity of the international borders of these United States and the Constitutional authority and duty of the federal government to guard and to protect those borders, including the regulation of the numbers and of the qualifications of immigrants into the country; and

Whereas, the Federal Government has wrongfully neglected its role to guard and protect our borders, and, thus, all Americans, from an unprecedented invasion of illegal aliens;

Whereas, the State of Arizona, in the dire straits of enduring the brunt of most of the illegal crossings of the national border, has passed Arizona Senate Bill 1070 which was signed by Governor Jan Brewer on April 23, 2010; and

Whereas, this Arizona law enables its Law Enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration law using federal standards protecting the rights of all citizens, and are required to do so without violating civil rights and without resorting to racial profiling,

Whereas, the Arizona law does not require new documentation such as a national ID card, but uses existing identification documentation to establish a presumption of legal status;

Therefore, be it Resolved, that the Constitution Party National Committee stands with the people of Arizona and applauds the State of Arizona and its Governor, Jan Brewer, for its recent action to protect and defend its citizens, our country, and the sovereignty of both the State of Arizona and the United States of America.

Constitution Party Attracts Record Candidates for Mid-Term Election

St. Louis, MO. “Freedom-loving Missouri voters will really have a choice this year as the Constitution Party announces a total of 72 candidates filing for federal, state and local offices,” Donna Ivanovich, State Chair of the Constitution Party reported today. The party has filed three candidates for the U.S. Senate race. Others include candidates for U.S. Representative in the 3rd, 4th and 5th Districts, 26th and 28th State Senate District, 19 State Representative districts, in addition to 45 candidates for county and local offices. A complete list of Constitution Party candidates is available at the party website, www.constitutionpartymo.org

http://www.constitutionpartymo.org/category/candidates

There is only one political party that stands for a return to government based solely on constitutional principles, and it is the Constitution Party. Every day, more and more people are joining in the fight to restore constitutional government to America. “For the past twenty years people have witnessed the expansion of Federal government at an unprecedented rate. Both parties have contributed to amassing a federal debt that is unsustainable. People are looking for solutions, and they are turning to the Constitution Party.” says Ivanovich.

“The Constitution Party’s principles are based in the ideas of life, liberty, family, and property protected by the Constitution. All 39 planks of the party platform are rooted in sound constitutional thought. http://www.constitutionpartymo.org/platform Our candidates have been thoroughly vetted and understand the proper role of government. Our plan to restore the rule of constitutional government to our country should appeal to all Americans concerned about the future of our nation,” says Ivanovich.

Ray Kish, the party’s candidate for 119th District State Representative, says, “The two-party system has abandoned our heritage and restructured our laws to benefit the special interests that fund their campaigns. Democrats and Republicans subscribe to the unconstitutional premise of centralized power, and both support the dismantling of our manufacturing base and the inherent loss of jobs, which has culminated in the decline of the standard of living of all Americans. Their self-serving policies have wasted the potential of our country and denied the people their rightful place as the source of power in government.”

“There is no doubt that a constitutionally committed third party is needed,” added Greg Cowan, candidate for U.S. Representative in the 4th Congressional District.

Democrats and Republicans have people who were elected with every intention to do the right thing. However, their beliefs have been sidelined, or they have been corrupted by the power of the established Parties, who ignore their own platforms. America desperately needs leaders, who come to government to serve the people, and the purpose of the Constitution Party is to back them in that endeavor.

Dave Lay, candidate for 5th Congressional District U.S. Representative in the Kansas City area, stated, “The party is gaining momentum, and I am seeing more support as my campaign progresses. The party is exploding in growth because people are desperate for a government focused on preserving their rights. They want leaders, who can be trusted to represent them and speak for their concerns. We are losing our freedoms and hundreds of thousands of jobs under the stranglehold of both major parties.”

Simply put, the Constitution Party is bound by constitutional principles, and its candidates will take seriously their Oath of Office to uphold those beliefs. The single-minded, two party system has not only strayed far off the course charted by the founders, but it lacks basic common sense and fiscal responsibility needed for good leadership. The resulting anger expressed in the voice of ignored citizens makes it clear that if confidence in government is to survive, voters must have a real choice in 2010.

Dear CPers and Fellow Patriots,

As each day passes our Constitution is being trampled upon ever more. Sometimes it looks to be a hopeless situation, but then we reflect on the truths we know. Our country was founded on principles of liberty, and fought for, even unto death, by men who cared more for future generations and our country’s freedom than even their very lives. Our country was established in view of our inalienable rights given by our Creator, hence not anyone’s to take away.

The battle continues today; we have a current federal government filled with corrupt leaders. But even so, we have a strong American people who want to see liberty and justice for all. The Constitution Party is running strong and just in time to step in and bring America back to its founding documents, restoring liberty to all. Now more than ever, we need to fight the good fight, to stand for freedom and justice.

Additionally, we need to call on the power of our Creator and holy God, seeking His wisdom, guidance, grace and providence in our efforts to take back our nation. We need to be on our knees continually praying for our country and the Party we hope God will use to restore America. Now is the time for corporate prayer from state to state, patriot to patriot, believer to believer. For this cause, I call on you, asking if you might be involved with me in regular, corporate prayer for our Party and our nation?

All this requires is simply sending me a return email saying, “YES TO PRAYER,” and you will be placed on the corporate prayer email list. Then, regular updates will come to you with special prayer requests. I believe God’s number of perfection is seven, and so I have decided to send prayer requests out in sevens. Quite simply, you will receive regular emails with seven specific requests for which to pray.

You can select your method of prayer, i.e. pray for all seven when you get the email, one a day for a week, or other methods. The prayer requests will reflect needs of our local MO Party and Candidates, needs of National, specific prayer for our current leaders, and other important needs of our country.

I will also include a special time for prayer. This time will change each email to offer flexibility, and will be set up to encourage everyone available to also pray the list at that specific time from wherever they are located. There will be no meeting place for corporate prayer; each person will individually participate.

It is my prayer you will get behind the power of prayer. I thank those who are already praying regularly and encourage them to participate in this special prayer. Again, just send an email to val@unitedbyhisgrace.org that simply says, “YES TO PRAYER.”

May God work miracles through the prayers of His people.

Valerie Hosfeld

The Constitution Party of Missouri strongly believes the Census Bureau is constitutionally limited to collecting only one piece of information about each residence: the number of persons living there. We believe the federal government should not be collecting any other information.

“The U.S. Constitution empowers Congress to provide for a census in order to apportion Representatives correctly by population (Article I, Section 2.8). We firmly believe the Founding Fathers DID NOT intend the decennial census to be conducted in its present intrusive manner. There is no constitutional reason for Congress to collect additional information such as name, race, age, sex, or home ownership status. The federal government will use this additional information to further fine tune its control over the lives of the American people.

The Inspector General of the Department of Commerce estimates preparations for the 2010 census will cost in excess of $14 billion. The Constitution Party of Missouri contends a constitutional census, limited to just a headcount, would be much less expensive.

The Constitution Party of Missouri along with many Americans are unconvinced the Census Bureau will keep our information secret, and may very well turn over personal information collected to government agencies not authorized to access that information. The census form states “Your answers are confidential. This means the Census Bureau cannot give out information that identifies you or your household. Your answers will only be used for statistical purposes, and no other purpose”. The form goes on to state, “your answers cannot be obtained by law enforcement or tax collection agencies. Your answers cannot be used in court. They cannot be obtained with a Freedom of Information Act request”. The question that begs for an answer then is, “why does the Census Bureau ask for this information if it cannot be shared?”

How you choose to answer questions on the 2010 Census form must be your decision. The question to ask yourself is, “do I trust the Federal government to do as it says?” Then you will know how to answer the questions on the census form.

The Constitution Party of Missouri opposes the current health care legislation being considered in the US House of Representatives. This legislation is designed to be intertwined with the bill passed last December by the US Senate. “The Federal government has no constitutional authority to be attempting a take-over of our health care system and instead should be passing laws reducing or eliminating federal involvement in health care”, says State Chair Donna Ivanovich of Arnold, Missouri.

Ivanovich also pointed out, “It is a virtual certainty that the cost estimates of health care legislation are dramatically understated. In 1965, Medicare Part A was estimated to cost $9 billion in 1990, when in actuality, it was 10 times that amount. This past week, Moody’s Investor Services warned the United States it is perilously close to losing its AAA credit rating because of the total amount of debt.”

Furthermore the Federal government certainly does not have any authority to tell American citizens they have to purchase health insurance or be fined or jailed.

For Americans to have any hope of returning to constitutional government, the status quo must be changed. Ulike the other parties, the Constitution Party of Missouri thoroughly vets its candidates to be certain they understand the proper role of government, the principles of freedom, and the Constitution. By electing candidates of the Constitution Party of Missouri, the American people can begin the long climb out of the un-constitutional abyss they have been thrown into by both “big box” parties.

“This is just another attempt by a central government to take over a large sector of an economy on the pretext of “helping its citizens”, says Ivanovich. “Centralized government has been the dream of socialists for generations. History shows wherever and whenever socialism has been tried, it has failed. This proposed health care take-over will be to the detriment of all Americans young and old. To continue on the present course will only further strengthen the Federal government’s control over every aspect of our lives”, Ivanovich concludes.

Constitution Party candidates will participate in Missouri’s August primary for the first time since 2004. Declarations of Candidacy were filed in Jefferson City on the opening day, February 23, 2010, including multiple candidates for the office of U.S. Senate. Others filing included two U.S. Representative Districts, one State Senate, and multiple State Representatives.

“Unlike the other political parties, before they file their candidacy, our candidates are thoroughly vetted with a 25-page questionnaire to determine their knowledge of the proper role of government “, reported State Chairman, Donna Ivanovich. She went on to say that, “candidates, who are approved in this process are then supported and endorsed by the Party. These candidates have pledged to support the restoration of constitutional government and will legislate law that will defend our great American principles of individual liberty.”

“The Constitution Party is America ’s fastest growing political party, and while the Republicans and Democrats have been losing supporters, this Party is exploding in growth. As the discontent mounts in our nation and state, our opportunities to elect Constitutional Americans have never been greater,” concluded Ivanovich.

“The Tea Party needs to make a choice between an “R” or a “D”, or so says Sarah Palin. The GOP rock star told an audience full of Tea Party members in Arkansas on Tuesday night, Feb. 16, that the Independents, who make up the Tea Party movement, need to start thinking about picking a party.

I think she is right. The Tea Party needs to make a choice, but not from within the two-party system that Palin claims we are stuck with. The Tea Party needs to decide right now whether they are going to let this movement be stolen by failed establishment candidates, or whether or not it is going to press forward and elect independent and third party candidates.

We do have choices, and they are not limited to Republicans and Democrats.

The Tea Party, from its beginning, was formed in response to the failure of both parties to listen to the will of the people. For Sarah Palin to suggest that we should pick between those same two failed parties is an insult. The rank in file members of the Tea Party movement should throw their current leaders out on their ear for allowing a movement of independents and Constitutionalists to be highjacked by either party.

Palin rightly points out that the Tea Party is not a Political party and cannot run candidates, but she is wrong to say there are only two choices because there is another choice: The Constitution Party. The Constitution Party has candidates running for office all across the United States, and the Constitution Party platform fits the Tea Party like a glove.

The Republicans and Democrats share the blame for our current economic crisis, and neither party has any real solution on how to fix it. Both parties gave us bailouts and stimulus programs adding mountains of debt that our children and grandchildren will have to pay back. In spite of all that money being spent, we still had 473,000 people file for unemployment benefits in the second week of February and have lost over 8 million jobs since 2007. With a track record like that, there is no reason whatsoever that America should choose between either party currently in power.

To say we have to pick between two incompetent choices is absolute lunacy. What America needs to do right now is make the decision not to return either Party back to Washington or any State office for that matter. Vote in a party with American ideas; a Party who has an American view of how the government should be run; a party that realizes that the Constitution is more than a word you say at a rally to get some applause. They need to vote in The Constitution Party.

If Palin was a true tea party patriot, she would not be asking us to choose between a Marxist party and a Fascist party. She would be leading her followers to a truly American party. . . . . The Constitution Party.

We are a nation, who is ruled by the consent of the governed. It is time the people remove their consent from the two establishment parties and put a Constitution Party candidate into office. The only way for both establishment parties to get the message is for both establishment parties to lose. To vote for either a Republican or a Democrat is to give your consent to two political parties who have made a living out of betraying the American people, our Founding Fathers and our Constitution, which each one swears fidelity to upon taking office.

America, don’t be fooled. Neither establishment party can be trusted. Send the hijackers packing, and let’s continue to build upon a truly great movement of the people.

As the mythical character Odysseus passed by the island known to be inhabited by the Sirens he ordered his men to plug their ears with wax. Odysseus knew that if his sailors heard the beautiful Sirens’ call they would be lured to their deaths.

Mike Simmons with Bronze Star

How fitting is that just last week the Republican National Committee met on a similar island in Hawaii and spoke of wooing and luring the votes of the tea party movement and patriot uprising?

The Constitution Party is putting out a call to all tea parties, patriots and America loving citizens to plug your ears! Do not be lured in by the Republican Party’s call for it will surely lead to the death of our country. Ignore the sweet sounding melody of moving back to the right and promises that if given just one more chance they will get it right.

Tea parties and patriot uprisings peppered the calendars last year and filled our nation’s capital on September 12, 2009, but just a few months later the GOP is delighted to have won the Ted Kennedy seat in Massachusetts despite the fact that they filled it with a pro-choice moderate who has admitted that he would support nationalized health care in a different form. The citizens of Massachusetts could not avoid the Sirens’ call.

A few months earlier in the NY 23 election the GOP chose to offer us Dede Scozzafava as their candidate and fought tooth and nail to stop the more conservative and better candidate Doug Hoffman from winning. It is clear that the GOP is more concerned with filling seats with warm bodies not quality constitutionalists. Why else would they refuse to consider requiring a “purity-test” for candidates in last weeks meeting?

The Republicans might have a conservative platform but what’s the point? They have clearly shown the propensity to ignore it and have yet to hold any of their leaders accountable to it. How have Olympia Snow and Arlen Specter been working out for the past few decades? Where was the accountability to the platform? When Bush and the GOP voted for “No Child Left Behind” the only thing that was left behind was their accountability to the platform.

I am asking and calling for all tea party patriots to ignore the call of the GOP and focus your efforts into a party that will hold candidates accountable. Not only do we have candidate accountability as a plank in our platform we actually deny candidates that do not support the platform. When you go to the polling booth and vote for a Constitution Party candidate you can rest assured that you will know exactly where he/she stands on the issues and that we will hold their feet to the fire.
