2008 Constitution Party Nominating
Convention
Dear
CPers,
Please see the 2008
Constitution Party Nominating Convention results below. Having
stayed up way past my bedtime every night from Tuesday through
Saturday, and then participating in the day's many
activities, helping to coordinate the entertainment setups when the
various musicians arrived, preparing for registration, and driving
home Sunday afternoon, I was exhausted and needed lots of
rest to clear my thoughts.
First of all, let me
express a debt of gratitude to our 27 voting delegates to
the convention. Each one attended the Friday session to hear each of
our 6 presidential candidate's nominating speeches and then cast
their decision in the role call vote of the states on Saturday.
Missouri's 12 votes were divided equally by 27 resulting
in a percentage of .444 designated to each
person.
I will start
with those delegates who served on the additional
committees:
Donna
Ivanovich (Delegation Leader, Platform Committee)
Cindy Redburn (Platform
Committee)
Dr. Gregory Thompson (Platform
Committee)

I can't tell you how
proud of them I am. Every one of them represented Missouri with
distinction and honor, and I count it a privilege to be counted among
them. Cindy's and Gregory's participation on the Platform
Committee and in the convention was of the highest caliber. They
contributed much to the newly revised 2008 version of our
Platform. All 27 CPers earned Missouri a great deal of
notoriety and respect.
Voting was done by
role call vote, and the State Chair, or representative from each
state, delivered their state's vote. As State Chair, I
had the privilege and honor to deliver Missouri's delegate's
votes. Missouri was split between the 2 frontrunners and
delivered:
Chuck Baldwin
- 5 votes
Alan Keyes - 7
votes
Chuck
Baldwin won the Presidential nomination by a total of
384 votes.
Alan
Keyes had 126 votes.
When it came time for
delivering the vote for the Vice-President, Missouri
delivered:
Darrell
Castle - 8 Votes
Scott
Bradley - 2 Votes
Susan
Ducey - 2 Votes
Darrell
Castle won the Vice-Presidential
nomination.
Congratulations
to
our
official
nominees!!
