Missouri
Constitution Party races toward ballot access, confirms state leadership and strengthens statewide
organization!
Jefferson City, Missouri, was the
location of the first-ever Statewide Conference of the Constitution Party
of Missouri which took place on Saturday, August 4,
2007. What a great and successful event it
was!
The big news, announced at the
meeting, was that approximately 8,500 signatures have already
been collected towards the required 10,000 valid signatures needed to
place the Constitution Party of Missouri on the ballot in 2008!
While the deadline for submitting the signatures in Missouri is not
until next summer, it is the Missouri CP's goal to
have between 15,000 and 18,000 collected and submitted to the State of
Missouri by Constitution Day, September 17, 2007. It looks like they
are well on their way to reaching this goal. Congratulations to
all who have worked so hard on this project, particularly
Missouri state ballot access coordinator, Travis Maddox.
At the conference, members of the state
committee confirmed the following state officers to serve through
2008:
Donna Ivanovich-Chairman
Travis Maddox-Vice-Chairman
Cindy Redburn-Secretary
Ray Kish- Treasurer
In addition, eleven new members
were appointed to the state committee at the meeting.
Among the notables in attendance
Saturday was Illinois Constitution Party Chairman and Midwestern
States Chairman, Randy Stufflebeam (who made the trip with his dad, Ted,
and his wife Lisa). Randy is proving himself to be an
extremely able and pro-active leader and is definitely a rising
star in the ranks of the Constitution Party.
The featured speaker at
the Conference was Constitution Party National Chairman, Jim
Clymer. Clymer's speech, titled "When Freemen Shall Stand" set forth
and examined six major crisis' which America now faces: 1)
Unprotected borders; 2) Degeneration of culture; 3)
Depreciation of the value of life; 4) The misapplication and
increasingly oppressive nature of government; 5) Globalism; 6)
A flawed monetary system and manipulated economy.
Clymer serves as the stand-in Constitution
Party Presidential candidate for purpose of the ballot petition drive
in Missouri (and in several other states). Chuck Baldwin is
serving as the stand-in candidate for Vice-President.
The Constitution Party of Missouri
has made exciting progress since its first organizational meeting in
November of 2006 in developing a real and competitive political
organization in the "Show-Me" state! And, "show us," they
have! Special plaudits must go out to
State Chairman, Donna Ivanovich, who in the fall of 2006 took up the
challenge to re-establish the Constitution Party in Missouri and, working
with great faith, determination and leadership has been largely
responsible for not only getting the party organized in Missouri again,
but for establishing one of the finest Constitution Party state
organizations in the nation. Donna has proven herself to
be a Real Winner and so has
the Constitution Party of Missouri!
The Constitution Party of
Missouri continues to set the highest standards and lead by
example! They are an organization of which we can all be very
proud! Congratulations to the Constitution Party of Missouri for
a great year!
