Petitions/Slate of 24
Statewide and Local Candidates for 2008 Ballot Access!
JEFFERSON
CITYIn a bid
to bring a choice to Missouri voters in the November election, the
Constitution Party of Missouri today presented its petition to the
Missouri Secretary of State in order to gain ballot access.
"This is a big day for us," said Constitution
Party of Missouri Chairman Donna Ivanovich. "During the last year party
members throughout the state have done a tremendous amount of work to make
this happen. They've collected well over the minimum amount of signatures
that we needed."
Ivanovich
explained the importance of a third party on the
ballot:
"Essentially
there's no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats," she
said. "Neither party remembers the constitutional boundaries of government
and both are completely out of touch with the will of the people. That's
why so many voters were so eager to sign our petition they
welcome an opportunity to choose someone who meets their
expectations rather than the tired, worn
out alternative of voting for the least offensive
candidate."
The
Constitution Party has the third-largest membership of all
U.S. political
parties.
