Tea Party Menu What Of Our Christian Heritage?

Replacing Congress In 1982, one year before he was shot down and presumed dead in KAL 007, Congressman Larry McDonald and I discussed a favorite topic of his over tea a few hours before his scheduled keynote address to the Albuquerque chapter of the TRIM Bulliten I had been active in. He was on the Council of 56 of the Religious Roundtable, and as the New Mexico director of the Roundtable, I had asked him to move his flight up early that day to address a small meeting of about 30 conservative Pastors and Activists on the Roundtable. To do
this, he had to cancel two capacity crowd meetings each who were giving
him maximum honorariums in his home 7th district of Georgia. He
was willing to give up $4,000 to meet with a smaller group for free. At
27, I was taken by this fact and even apologized for having so few at the
meeting that morning when I had expected as many as 200. He said, “Don’t
apologize, I would rather meet with 30 who will do something, than 1,000
who won’t.” This was a principled man who had the most conservative voting
record in Congress with straight consecutive scores of 100% on the
Conservative Index. The only other Congressman since to have matched his
record is another fellow physician, Ron
Paul of Texas. Of Larry
McDonald, US Representative Ron Paul told the Philadelphia Inquirer
that "he was the most principled" man in Congress. In
that one on one over iced tea, he introduced me to the blueprint for
taking back and preserving this Republic. He started by saying that the
elite-controlled-media focuses on the election of the President. But that
is not where our focus should be since the President is elected every four
yeas and for decades back, it didn’t matter which nominee got elected,
Republican or Democrat, they were controlled by the same elite, and thus
the same elite-dictated-policies continue from one administration to the
next. And except for Ronald Reagan, all the nominees of both parties were
members of the Council on Foreign
Relations or CFR. And who did Ronald Reagan choose as his
pro-choice running mate? Former UN Ambassador George HW (New World Order) Bush who not
only had been a member, but one of five directors of the CFR. So forget
the President, you are not going to win. And
the US Senate is elected every 6 years and many are now in bed with
Rockefeller controlled elitists. They use to be controlled and appointed
by their State’s Legislatures, but that all ended with the unratified
17th Amendment. And since they are statewide elections, it is
much harder to unseat an incumbent whose raised millions by the time
someone even thinks of throwing their hat into the ring.
But
the US House is sliced up into 435 districts across the country who
represent a little over half a million in each district. Their term is but
two years and as soon as they find out they had just won another hotly
contested squeaker, they allow about two seconds to wipe the sweat off
their browse, and it is off to the races planning for the next election,
now just two years away. So they are always running for re-election. These
are supposed to be our Representatives in Congress and therefore they are
accountable to those of us who live in their district.
Article. lV, Section. 4. of the
Constitution states, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in
this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them
against Invasion…” A Republican form, not a Democracy – big difference.
And shall protect every state against invasion. The Federal Government is
doing little about the invasion from the south. Who is going to hold them
to that guarantee? If We the People don’t, we can only blame ourselves, as
we are their boss, the guardian of the US House. If we are losing our
Republic or if we are being invaded and we have done nothing to force the
hand of Congress, we deserve what we get. The
other part that Congressman McDonald was referring to was Article l.
Section 7. “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of
Representatives…” Simply put, if a bill becomes law, the House can choose
whether to fund it (appropriations). Again when we are not calling,
emailing, or demanding office hours with our own Congressman to keep him
from voting with Congress to have runaway spending, blame yourself, and
don’t complain. If we, on the other hand have been diligent to do our
part, but our Representative is not Representing us and remaining within
the confines of the Constitution, then it is our duty to replace that
person with a principled Christian
Constitutionalist come election day. This
is why our focus should not be on the Presidency as hard as the media
shoves that down our throats. Ron
Paul is the most principled
constitutionalist perhaps that has ever run for this office. But
what will he have if he wins and the present Congress is left in tact? Of
course we want him to win, but our focus should be on capturing that part
of the Federal Government we can control and taking our jurisdiction over the US House
seriously. If Ron Paul wins, let’s give him something to work with. If he
loses, but we have done our part to change the face of the House, they can
refuse to fund bad government. Then it won't matter much who is elected
President. The goal of the Tea Party whether Texas, Virginia, or any other Tea Party, is to have enough of these Parties in each Congressional District so that it grows to the point that good candidates will spring forth and run. Time is short in America – we don’t have to nor do we have time to even argue this point. We only have this election to replace who we can. If we have one victory, it is better than none, (CAFTA, among other key bills, only passed the House by one vote) but it won’t be enough. If five, than a minor irritation. If twenty five, than a real concern. If 100, we will be well on the road to recovery and Ron Paul will have something to work with. |
